What is dripping and why does everyone like it so much?

Learn how to model your face in a new way.

Draping (from the English drape - "to drape") appeared in Russia relatively recently, but it was not, as usual, bloggers invented it, but Marc Jacobs. This man has published his own book on makeup, where you can find the most relevant techniques and a chapter on draping.

Why do girls like him so much?

This type of makeup allows you to freshen up your face by applying blush. It looks pretty unusual, but beautiful.

Everyone already knows what contouring is, with the help of it the shape of the face is changed. For such a simple disguise, a highlighter and dark powder are used, creating a shadow on the face, but draping makes the face textured thanks to blush, it sounds interesting.

It turns out that it still started in the 70s, when makeup artist Wei Bendy came up with this technique. It was mainly used by various stars of that era, but over time, everything faded into the background or was completely forgotten.

Previously, they appreciated bright and shocking makeup, used blush and highlighter instead of dark powder. Now they say that in no case should you do this, but now you can forget about this rule.

Wei Bendy came up with it, and Marc Jacobs wanted to return it. He released a new collection of blush designed specifically for draping. But it's worth noting that you can use any blush, just not very bright shades. A peachy, dusty rose is perfect for this technique.

Draping has become popular for its naturalness and ease, as conventional sculptural makeup products are highly visible on the face. It gradually gets boring and you want something new and at the same time unusual.

  • You only need three products - powder, blush (light and dark) and highlighter. By the way, in the case of mature and dry skin, cream textures should be used, in other cases - dry ones.
  • Take a brush and powder in the area of the "apples" of the cheeks and cheekbones. It is done so that further it was easy to shade the blush.
  • We take a beveled brush (you can take another) and a dark-colored blush and apply it on the cheekbones, and then shade everything.
  • Next, light blush comes into play, they, as usual, are applied to the apples of the cheeks, you can smile at the same time, so it will be easier to apply. It should be shaded from the cheeks, along the cheekbones to the temples, but not vice versa.
  • You can apply a dash of light blush around the temples for a fresher look.
  • We mark the protrusion under the eyes with a highlighter. The dripping is complete!
